    https://www.rte.ie/news/2019/1229/1103481-influenza-trolleys/
The Irish Association for Emergency Medicine has rejected the HSE assertion that 50% of those on trolleys awaiting admission to a bed have influenza.
The association has said the true figure is likely between 10-20%.
The latest HSE TrolleyGar figures today show there are 329 patients waiting for admission to a bed - a 109% increase on the same day last year.

More incorrect data from the HSE. They have a history of manipulating numbers or getting things completely wrong. Think Cervical Check and Children's Hospital for more examples.

How is Simon surviving this mismanagement for so long?

Corporate Governance and Accountability non existent under FF-FG governments. Rogue civil servants providing rogue reporting and getting away with it.

That is how that are getting away with it for so long. That is why the problems still exist.

Simple Simon, the college drop out careerist politician is absolutely clueless.

Harris is the worst minister in any department in the history of the State. He was Francis Fitzgerald's tea maker before he somehow got elected to the Dail and then got the Health gig because literally no one else wanted it. He is utterly unqualified to hold any leadership position let alone be in charge of the most complex department in government. The diaster that is the failing chronically underfunded front line health service while simultaneously building the most expensive hospital on the planet (and that's before equipment and staff) is the end result of appointing such a weak leader.

From such weak leadership comes statements like the above. The HSE can say and do what they like because they know there is no one to hold them accountable. The only hope is that Harris loses his seat in the election and cannot then be reappointed (I suspect FG will be back in power and if Harris is still in the Dail he will be the patsy stuck with health).

    Hmmm...

    HSE... H... S... E...

E and S are letters of the alphabet... E + S = 2 letters, and E is the FIFTH letter of the alphabet!! Put the amount of letters that E and S equal, beside the number 5, which is E - the FIFTH letter of the alphabet, what do you get!?

    TWENTY F***ING FIVE!!!!

AND WHAT IS THE 25TH LETTER OF THE ALPHABET!?

    Y! F***ING Y!!!

SO... ...this is unbelievable - I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS... SO!!!

    ...Y + E... + S... EQUALS =

    NO!
    NOT A F***ING CHANCE.

Simon Harris, and any other minister or government will never be able to do anything about the HSE. It's far too big of machine for a politician to have any to have any significant impact.

Michael Martin's baby - and nobody should be allowed forget that when he tries to blame anyone else for it.

FG have been a disaster at the helm but FF try to act blameless.

(IT IS JUST AN EXAMPLE HERE).The government have no clue about IT systems and have people in charge that have no clue about IT and are getting bummed by 3rd party companies and their current managers and especially administration where all the money is going. New implementation of systems might cost 10 million but they would rather pay 2.5 million year to maintain the current ones which costs more in he long run, rather than pay the 10 million now to upgrade and one millon to maintain the new one and not firing 50 current adminstration staff as they would no longer be needed with the new system as all would be automated as they would have to offer redundancy and the new system would be completely faster and no mistakes to be made. It's makes the people in charge look good as their saving money in the short term, not the long term.

I could go on and on but its just stupid stuff like this with idiotic mangers that stuff keeps going on and on and on.

If there's redundancy involved and there's better systems their to cut the costs involved in things and not stupid mistakes to be made the government don't want to know about it even though it will cause numerous **** ups.

This is only an example now but most of us have put up with inadequate managers and how much they cost a company to make themselves look good for the year.

The motto is better systems YES but NOT at a cost of redundancies.

Such a terrible defeatist attitude. The mind boggles when I read these statements. We are a small country. It's not that difficult as some make it out to be ffs. Such statements fuel the false narrative of it being untouchable.

I agree fully with your statement. Its clueless poiliticians in charge who don't know their arse from their elbow.

All they want to do is bend over to the EU and get praised for the great job their doing and the Senior politicians are loving it, expenses, big pension, good wages. What do they care once the EU is happy? They still get paid at the end of the day.

We are getting completely rode its not funny, at this stage we would be better off part of the UK and i'm not joking.

Put Trump in charge and I guaruntee you there would be 40 story high apartment blocks in a ton of counties in Ireland to ease the housing crisis, probably twenty of them in Dublin at least with a good line into the city.

Vradakar doesn't have the chonoies to do this. Look after the foreign investors and the current Landlords is all he cares about.

The government can EASILY afford this but rather look after their pensions.

They are completely afraid of a revoult from welfare recieptants and happy to screw the working class as they know they won't kick up a fuss.

Get over it. Irish people love blaming someone else; the church, d’english, the EU. If you elect people based on their surname or for turning up to funerals you will have basket case public services. People want “free” services but someone else to pay.

Its scary how much money Ireland is blowing.

There is a consultant on the Tonight Show saying that the trolley crisis is simply an issue with bed capacity. There is simply a lack of beds.
She said she is sick of the FG government blaming the flu.

It's an annual thing for the past 10 years. FG can **** off. They should have it sorted by now.

    Plain and simple.
