Am currently using photoshop on my old acer laptop which is on its last legs and looking to buy a new laptop in the 500 euro range I would appreciate any suggestions on a suitable laptop and what I should be looking out for

The sweetspot for Photoshop seems to be a good quad core and 8Gb of RAM, A gpu helps a little depending on the workload you have. Also a good fast scratch disk really helps too.

Having a quick look on Currys something like this would be a good start, plenty of budget to add a decent SSD too. I recommend what ever you decide to go for check the screen instore for color accuracy and viewing angles

the reality is that most laptops sub 900 euro or so are going to have screens that are not colour accurate (you have to decide how important that is for your work)

this laptop coming out soon is set to offer a great quality screen for a reasonable price

I would estimate that it might be about 900/ 950 euro or so in Europe when VAT is applied

as the other poster said check reviews of any model for colur accuracy

you'd want at least 100% sRGB / 65/70% Adobe RGB levels I would say

if you can only go to 500 euro go for a ryzen 5 cpu, 8gb ram, ssd and the best screen that you can find

Tbh if the screen size suits something like a surface pro 6 second hand with its great high Res and colour accurate screen could work. Also has pen for drawing of course
