I know these cars inside out.i work for a bmw specialist.firstly the most common part to leak on the exhaust is the flexi joint which is part of the dpf the other place it could leak is where it joins the back of the turbo.the injector leak is normally the copper washers at the tip of the injector and there only a couple of euro.but like anything if u go to a main dealer you pay top price.i work in a BMW specialist and the jobs u list are done daily .if you need anymore info just ask

On a side note why the feck did your friend bring a nearly 12 year old car to a main dealer for a service? Doesn't matter to them whether it is 12 months or 12 years old, they will follow the manufacturer's guidelines and recommended servicing procedure and charge the same for parts and labour.

We dont do tyres but theres a good place up the road.i would have to check it to be sure it was the flexi section on the dpf as I said could also be the metal gasket.

I wouldn't give a price on hear as not advertising but i would be shocked if even it needed every injector washer replaced.firstly they all should of being done when it got the chain replaced.
The washers are only a couple of bucks each and straight forward job as I said the exhaust leak now would also have to be checked.so hard to say until you had a look at it.anyways we all know to well how expensive bmw labour is.but if I can help you out I would gladly

Yea it would have been easier to do it with Tchain.

Well the injectors would of being out when doing the chain.so it should of got 4 new injector washers at that point.now I'm not saying they can go again but it wouldn't be a common failing problem.but as I said that's a easy cheap fix anyway.
