Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks Marno :) Here's a few more projects you could add, as follows-

N26 Cloongullane (1.8km Type 2 SC): At tender, contract award in Q2 2020.

N60 Lagnamuck (1.4km Type 2 SC): Open to traffic.

N60 Heathlawn (3.6km Type 2 SC): To be tendered in 2020.

N60 Manulla (4km Type 1 SC): CPO to be issued in Q1 2020.

Galway Co Co are also working on the N17 Milltown realignment (4km Type 1 SC) but it's very hard to find information on it. There have been two public consultations and there is a preferred route so I could see it going to ABP in 2020.

2020 won't be too great for new starts.
Three schemes that were supposed to start in 2019 and one single carriageway.
    Rest are all very minor.

The funding profiles for many minor schemes seem to indicate they will start in 2020 which is good news for much of the neglected national secondary network.

The main issue now is the lack of major schemes with planning, something which has been repeatedly pointed out by myself and others over the past few years, we’ve reached the day where it’s an issue now.

Apart from the N5 (down to start this year) and the M28, there is no other major scheme with planning permission (apart from Dunkettle and it’s issues). This year we should hopefully see the M21 and M6 schemes get planning which will help down the road

The positive I can take at the minute is how quickly Roscommon County Council have progressed the N5 scheme after it got planning. At present, they are still on track to get it from planning approval to shovels in the ground in less than 2 years. That’s a 35km scheme in a sensitive area. If they can do that, I have hope for the M6/M21/M28 schemes moving quickly after planning approval provided funding is forthcoming. It’s a big change from the current starts which took years from planning approval to construction start.

Marno, any point trying to update your list there? Mightn't be much change after the doldrums of lockdown.

    Phase 4 - Statutory process
    M6 Galway City Ring Road [12km M + 6km T1SC] [decision due mid 3030]

    Phase 1 - Feasibility study/project scope
M20 Cork -Limerick [constraints study underway, due when hell freezes over, which is due shortly before 3030]

Dart interconnector, that will have to wait a while.

Will put up a combined Q1/Q2 update later. Hadn’t bothered with Q1 when lockdown kicked off
