Some of the master sockets have a magnet in the removable cover that opens a number of reed switches when removed. Not much to go wrong with the socket itself. If I was struck I would bypass it till eir or their contractor can get out to replace it.

Will a normal socket work? with DSL Filters?

Any RJ11 socket will work. Then use a splitter for phone and broadband separation as before.

Are you sure its the socket?
When can i try down one of these, It is working when I bypass the removal plate for phones but the broadband wont work..

When you plug either the phone or the broadband into that port you've exposed by removing the NTU plate they should BOTH work. If its only phone working then its more likely the line is in crap condition.

If water got onto the rear of the plate and it wasnt splashed onto it then it came from the wall - where the line is.
