I pod FaceTime/I message

    Got an I pod 7 for the little one today cannot for the life of me set up FaceTime or I messsage just keeps saying failed or no FaceTime server, there is no option in settings to turn on or off like on my I phone

    I have googled everything but no avail
    Anyone have any ideas
    And I setup and have entered correct I cloud account thanx
