Kia Ceed 2012 passenger door won’t unlock

Hi my 2012 kia ceed passenger door won’t unlock. It was playing up for a while; when I was pressing the key fob sometimes it would open and sometimes not but now it wont unlock at all.

I wonder could it be anything to do with the car battery. The car is a eco dynamics and has stop start. The stop start has not worked for a long time and this is due to the battery being uncharge and needing a new battery. Could this unlocking issue be related to the battery or is this a different issue.

    Thanks

I’d say it’s unlikely to be related.
Can you unlock from the inside?

It's possibly the actuator (the little motor that locks/unlocks the door when you press the fob).
As said, will it open when done manually from inside, or with key from outside?

Actuator is more than likely fooked.... Have changed a few of these on Hyundai/Kia's.

    Was the car ever crashed?
