There are a couple of roofless stone sheds on the property I'd like to fix up next year. Can people recommend good brands of cement mixers to check into? Do these come down in price in new year sales?

Bought a new victor a couple of months ago for €800. Belle mixer is €950. They are nearly identical only difference is the gear box. Pretty happy with it so far. Only complaint is you need to keep it at least 1/3 full of petrol or is conks out when tipping it.

We have a few Belle mixers at work, all petrol.
    Never ever any problems.

If you have electricity on the property get a 110vokd electrical mixer. No petrol and silent when working. I have a 220vokt one that is nearly 30 years old. No servinging and nevery fails to star

Really cheap to run a unit of electricity ever few hours. No servicing. Even if I taught I would have to use a generator every now and again I would go electrical. Another advantage is they are cheaper than petrol ones.

Ye the little 1 bag electric mixers are excellent if you have power on site, every bit as good as the petrol on. You can some times pick these mixers up cheap enough second hand from any of the hire centers at this time of year when the are renewing some of their smaller plant. That's what I done for my mixer and power washer. They were perfect with very little work done, bought the two of them for €900. I have told the local hire center that I would be interested in a generator when they have one.

I'd second looking out for a second hand one. 950 is a fair ball of money for a small mixer.
Electric would be my preference aswell

If buying electric check the motor wattage. Some cheaper models have a 375w motor. Weak as f. You'd spin it faster by hand.

We've an electric Belle here for over 10 years. Only used around the house and farm but never any trouble.
I akways use a RCD plug with it for safety.

Why not just get a PTO one? They seem cheap enough.

What are you planning for the roof? I've just recently reroofed one in corrugated bitumen, turned out really well.

Thank you all. There isn't electric near where I will work, we have no tractor, I'll look at genny and electric mixer combinations. Had an electric one before but it met with an angry four legged accident.

This place seems to have a lot of secondhand Belle mixers.
