I picked up one of these and I got Saorview setup ok and now I’m trying to set up the Satellite now. I had a look through the forms here and still can’t figure out what the settings should be as it’s showing no stations after the end of a auto scan. Any ideas on what to set LNB Frequency, Transponder, LNB power & DiSEqC?

I did change the tv to UK and now it gives me the option for freesat but that didn’t help. I had a freesat box installed but I removed It as the tv should be able to do it too.

    Thanks.

+ Picture of settings. I’m in Bray if that makes a difference to settings...

You need to set the region to the UK and not Ireland. Then you'll get the Freesat option to setup. Think it'll ask for a UK postcode - can't recall. I used a London one (as it suits me to get London news) but others use one from NI.

You'll then have to manually re-number the Saorview channels as they will be scanned in from the mast and appear out of order at ch 800 onwards.

Might seem like a daft question, but, you did connect the cable from the satellite dish to the TV's LNB-in socket? (Screw-on type.)

I was not certain what position that LNB Power switch is in ..... make sure it is on.

I’ve 2 LNB coming from the satellite and it’s screwed tight in the back of the tv. I’ve also redone the F connector afterwards just in case that was it. Still no joy.

Should the satellite signal quality and strength bars should show all the time? Or will it show when I have the correct settings? Currently it is the former.

    Thanks

You should have unicable switched off and you will only get a signal if the satellte has the transponder frequency that you select. you are using fixed antenna, unicable uses a different lnb.

    use sky news 12207.00 V DVB-S QPSK 27500 5/6 to get a signal

I assume this cable was working with the Freesat box? There should be no need to go near any settings.

I think there is an issue with LG webOS and the implementation of HBB support.
I just purchased a LG SM8600, I can tune in the Freesat stations via a dish, but when I click on any channel it returns an "Invalid Service" error message.

There is a thread on lgwebos with multiple cases of this problem and a very unsatisfactory response from LG support!

With LG tv's you need to switch from tuner to the other . The way around it , is the set your fav Freesat channels in your favourites .Recordings have encrytion .can only be played back on that tv .

I need to borrow the box again to retest it as it did work. Could it be that the dish is off because of the wind?
