    If a light fitting in the house has no maximum can any wattage be put in it? It is only on the shade there is a max

    With modem bulbs you’ll never exceed the rates wattage.

    Just use an LED, Max wattage can be related to cable size , component such as terminal blocks ratting , heat output.

    With light fittings the max wattage will be the heat aspect, and incandescent (traditional filament) or halogen bulbs.

    LED or CFL wont really have a wattage limit
