Tyre wear on outer edge; NCT related query

NCT is due soon and I have tyre wear on outer aspect of front tyres. All other areas of the tyre has a wealth of tread.

The NCT manual suprisingly says "Check with a tyre tread depth gauge, that the central three-quarters of the tread pattern has a depth of at least 1.6 millimetres around the full circumference of the tyre.

So i should not fail for this. Correct?

Once the wear isn't inside the central 75% it will pass.

Now, if there are wires showing because you regularly take corners on two wheels you're goosed.

Sounds like an alignment issue, you might want to look at that before the NCT as well. Worn or soft bushes will also be a point of failure as is the sideslip test.
