High pitch whining noise in reverse Hyundai i30

    Any ideas or cause and fix?

    Got a services in hope but still making the same noise in reverse

    Tricky, cars usually make a whining noise when reversing anyway.
    If you think it's a "bad" noise it could be the transmission fluid filter, if your car has one.

    Reverse gears in car don't have synchros to allow an easy mesh as theyre a standalone gear and so a whine from it is normal but if its something that only just started then maybe get the gearbox oil changed and see if that quietens it down slightly. As long as there aren't any strange noises from the forward gears then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Is there big mileage on the car?
