    Hi,

Would anyone know of any hotels in Dublin (preferably Dublin city centre) that might do discounts for booking a room for a birthday ?

    It's a special one.

I'm up for negotiating with the hotel manager if required.

    Thanks in advance.

you might find one that will give you a discount for your hundredth birthday, providing both your parents accompany you. Other than that, no chance.

I have never, ever, ever heard of this. A free desert in the restaurant maybe

Dublin hotels do not need to give discounts for anything currently they're so oversubscribed.

I do hear for special birthdays or a wedding when there's bulk rooms being booked for a particular event that hotels can offer discounts for each room being booked ?

    Maybe I've been told lies..

I'm a hotel manager, I can arrange a discount, you need to pay me a deposit up front of 500e, I can meet you in the lobby if the Gresham tomorrow.
I'll be wearing a fedora and carry two umbrellas.

A week after your party I'll meet you and return 450e .

Are you booking a function room for a party or bulk booking a large number of rooms for guests? Big difference.

Then talk to any hotel about block booking rates. But make sure you get the number of rooms you need correct.

I once got a free upgrade to a better room when celebrating an anniversary...But it happened to be a midweek evening in a seaside town. In the middle of January. So it was probably because of that.
High season Friday/Saturday in Dublin? You'll be lucky if you can find an available room at full price, let alone with a discount.

Look for their corporate rate, however I don't know how much good you'll do with a city center hotel.

First they came for the socialists...

The checkout process takes an eternity though.

Block rates are block rates; has nothing to do with what the event is.
