    Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me is it possible to add 4 GB RAM to the other 4 GB already in it? ie does it take two chips? Ive inserted the second one but it's not reading it! So still giving 4 GB and not 8.

Or do I have to get an 8 GB on its own...?

    Thanks!

that laptop has 2 ram slots (spaces) and takes ddr3 sodimm type ram sticks and yes you can have 2 slots filled at once

if you put in the second stick and it's not being picked up then you may have well have not seated it correctly /firmly in the slot. I'd try it again - maybe search a youtube video showing someone doing it correctly.

otherwise it could be (unlkely) defective.

Thank you, I double checked and it needed to be slotted in properly, however its still not picking it up. The system still reads 4 GB. This is what I got:
    DDR3 SDRAM - 4GB RAM Memory for Fujitsu-Siemens LifeBook AH502 (DDR3-12800) - Laptop Memory Upgrade from OFFTEK

    OFFTEK Part Number :- FT512MSK64V4U-1487582

    Capacity :- 4GB Module

Form Factor :- 204 Pin SoDimm

    Memory Type :- DDR3

    Bandwidth :- DDR3-12800 (PC3-1600)

    Memory Specs :- 204 Pin 1.5v DDR3 PC3-12800 SoDimm

    Premier Brand Memory

We only use branded memory modules from leading manufacturers which includes but is not limited to :- Samsung, Hynix, Elpida, Hypertec, Micron and Integral.

    100% Compatiblity

I hope I got the right product.....

Any other ideas other than it might be faulty? I might try to switch the chips, take out the old and see will the new one be picked up. If not I know its definitely faulty. Ill have to do it after work tomorrow night.

    Thanks again.

EDIT: Curiosity got the better of me. Swapped the chips around and it worked.....very strange but it did. Thanks for the tip earlier!!!
