A friend of mine has 141 2.0 litre diesel Passat with 90,000 miles, the timing belt hasn't been changed yet. Is it due at 100,000 miles?

Yep. In my 161 the water pump went a few months after the warranty was up. Was nearly at 120k so changed the timing belt too while they were at it.
