Temporary fix for small leak in copper pipe joint?

A pipe joint in the central heating system is leaking intermittently. I expect there to be a delay with getting a plumber to fix this properly.

The water leaking from the joint is visibly corroding the pipe and the pipe directly below it.

I'm thinking of wrapping it in insulation tape as a temporary fix. I don't want to risk trapping the water on the outside of the pipe though and cause further corrosion.

    Any advice?
