I bought a battery cordless circular saw in Aldi, 20 volt.
I've charged battery and installed it. But
for whatever reason, I cannot get it to work.
I've exchanged the saw, but no success. What am I missing,. Cannot see a switch or any extra safety factor.
    Any suggestions welcome
    Thanks

Did it come with a manual?

    What brand is it?

    Parkside?

You've exchanged the saw for a new one ?

I'd suggest your missing something then . Safety switch or otherwise. Read the manual

    Weird.

I'm pretty sure they have safety switches though - is there something around where your thumb might go on the saw? Does the trigger go in all the way when you pull it?

Is it the same battery that came with the tool?

Not that it's important, but parkside is Lidl. Aldi are ferrex, previously work zone.

    Try this:

    https://help.tools/pages/instruction-manuals

and, if this is the one you are owning, this:

Believe it or now, you can also call their customer service... but if they cannot help you, return it and get something else. No need to agonise over it... after all, you bought it to work for you, not the other way around :)

My bet is still that the safety switch has gone unnoticed - you can see it in the picture here just above the trigger. It's a slider that pokes out on both sides and has to be pressed to one side or the other as you're pulling the trigger.

If it is that. I suggest the OP does a bit of training in he operation of the device before using it. Perhaps with a friend who is competent diyer

Another idea. Batteries are manuf separate to the saw.. Sometimes the copper tabs on the battery just not be proud enough to make contact.

Judicious use of a small screwdriver might move the tab enough..
