Looking to move from a Lexus RX450h to a 2017 Mercedes S500e LWB. What I am curious about is:

    - It is a big unit and wondering will it be manageable in tight car parks around Dublin ?

    - Its a PHEV and Soft Hybrid anything I should be concerned about ?

    - I do ~70k kms a year will it break my heart with servicing/petrol

    Any other comments appreciated.

    Thanks Whimsey

If you're doing that kind of mileage get a diesel. It will use far less fuel in the real world (unless you're going to do all those 70,000 km in Dublin or another city centre where you can plug it in all the time).

Despite what the critics say, diesel is still the best and most desirable option for a car the size of an S-class, especially with that kind of mileage. If you were doing low mileage and are planning on using it around town, or are interested in virtue signalling, then the plug-in makes sense.
