Kerry County Council has published the CPO for a 4.5km upgrade of the N70 between Blackwater Bridge and Sneem in Kerry

The existing road is incredibly narrow in places. The entire route is an online upgrade with additional pedestrian/cycle facilities

    Badly needed. Road looks good.

Cycle "design" is complete nonsense though and I'd expect the majority of cyclists to avoid using it. I cycle there regularly and will certainly avoid it. More wasted money unfortunately.

Less than 10% of what is needed between Sneem and Kenmare really. Still good to see improvements on an important route for tourism.

Yeah. Even for the locals to access things like healthcare too. The Ivereagh peninsula is a long slow slog by car.

Any recent update on this ?Drove that section of road recently and its in horrendous shape. Outside a bit of fencing there seems to be nothing done.
