Dell delivery date website misinformation

Dell lies about shipping. Prior to clicking on the order button the site mentioned 6 or so days for the configuration I specified. After going through the order process they specified a date 13 days later than the contracted for delivery date. Marketing fraud. And there is no guarantee that it will arrive on this later date. And Dell offers no option for faster shipping, at an extra cost to the buyer.

Michael Dell et cie = dumb.

Their website offered few configuration options. My machine is enforced config, a la former Soviet Union Moscow Department store number 3 standard. The site is loaded with dumb 'help me choose' icons over each item - but no choice and the information on the non-available options is dated and irrelevant. Rubbish free trials of 'security software' and other bloatware, with no option to decline same. Their website is full of configuration bugs and gotchas. There is no space for one's postcode. It forces one to enter a county name for Irish addresses - even if the delivery address is in a city jurisdiction. Dublin 4 is not in Co Dublin etc. Similar for Cork and other cities.

The Lenovo site is far more professionally designed, and offers more configuration options. Next time I am buying Chinese. And thanks to EU law, I can send back my Dell (or any other online ordered merchandise) if it is unsatisfactory, within 14 days. Perhaps a Lenovo before the Chinese New Year, running on Linux?
