Broadband in New House

    Hi All,
Moving into new build house in housing estate in Maynooth this week. House is allegedly cabled for "fibre" and has an ETU on side with a blanking plate marked fibre on inside of the same wall with a twin plug socket.
Our eircode issued in the November update. Whilst the eircode shows up on finder.eircode.ie, the EirCode or address dont seem to appear in any of the broadband suppliers databases. Eir dont have it for sure.
However strangely its showing up as eligible for VDSL on Airwire website. I'm just confused as to how Airwire could know that we are connect able for VDSL when Eir dont seem to know we exist. Or is this a glitch?
As I mentioned in the Eir Urban FTTH thread, the housing estate opposite ours has active Eir FTTH connections for over a year. Not sure if we actually have fibre, VDSL or nothing yet. Any ideas?

Open Eir own and maintain the network and sell access to the network to the different providers. Eir retail is now a different company who is just one of the many providers that pay for access to that network and then sell the service to the general public. All providers must be treated equally by open Eir.

The updated data about the network is periodically sent out to all the providers and it is up to them what to do with this.
Airwire update their own database more frequently and spend more time ensuring their own records are accurate. Soon you will be listed by all providers, they just have to get around to it.

Our database is a bit more extensive and more frequently updated than most others.

We also compare the distance of your premise to the nearest cabinet for VDSL, check if that is live and if that is under 500m, then there is a good chance, that you can get VDSL. That is why our checker reports "Available" but does not report any speeds.

Basically, we will attempt to get OpenEIR to add your premise to their database manually, once you place an order. That way you don't have to wait on them discovering your premise.
