Hi everyone - just a quick question about the double payment over Christmas for Jobseekers Benefit.

A family member is doing the temporary suspension of his weekly JB payment for next week only as he was asked to help out with a job for a few days. He said the suspension would then be lifted after next week and his weekly payments would resume as normal after that assuming he hasn't secured work in the meantime.

So that means he won't be getting the double payment next week as he'll be working, and the following week (Christmas week) no payments are given. What we're wondering is the week after that when payments resume, would he get the back-payment for Christmas week that he'll have missed out on? Otherwise doing one week work (maybe not even a full week depending if they finish up on Thursday) will cost him 2 weeks Jobseekers Benefit.

Apologies if I explained that badly, I'm only going off a quick conversation we had earlier.

He will get JSB for all the days that he’s available for work.
