    Hello all!

Anyone out there know where I can get one of these?

I have one I got from a gent in Balbriggan, he was on a different forum, but he doesn't do them any more.

My one is well worn now, and needs to be replaced!

Please let me know if you know of anyone doing them at the moment.

    Cheers
    Roc...

Is that one of those 'Polite' Hi-viz?.

    Don't.

    Just get a regular hi-viz.

Are you a Garda or do you want to look like one?

Why not go into any bike shop and get a hi vis jacket..

If he was a Garda he would not be on here looking for one....lol.

I agree the "Polite" Hi viz vests are a joke....just looking for trouble wearing them. I personally like an orange hi viz to the yellow ones.

I'm not a Garda nor do i particularity want to look like one, not that-that would be a problem. but if you knew the jacket i was talking about, you you know how good they are in the wet.
Dont really care what i look like, just want to be dry.

    Cheers,

But the main reason I'm looking for one is for the rain protection.
My moto on the road is that they cant see you, no matter what you wear!

Army surplus stores sell these type of hi-viz. Cost about €20. and are totally waterproof. They come with a hood and I have cut this off.

Orange has been proven to be a better colour to be visible.

I wonder is whatever study that's from pulled from using a sample population where hi-vis yellow isn't associated with the police.

I know I'm far more primed to notice fluo yellow.

You're looking for a flexothane jacket - I remember getting one in Cotters years ago.

You could try safety wear shops - here's an example of one https://www.safetycare.ie/Flexothane/HiVisFlexothaneJacket

JW Balfour in the Navan Road in Dublin supply the Gardai with their uniforms and kit so you might get one there

the trouble with Hi-Viz is tat it only works when they are looking.
I was rear ended at a red light a few years ago, i was wearing Hi-viz at the time. The guy just wasn't looking...
I just assume that they cant see me now, unless i have eye contact. And even at that, you stilll can't predict what they do next!

I think this is the nugget I am looking for!
I will drop into them during the week.
Obviously, I',m not after a jacket with the Garda reflectors, they are available with those removed or with just a large reflector at the back.
They are made specifically for motorcycle riders, that's why I'm after another one.. the fit really well!

    Cheers!!

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

    Will do Bill.
They may want us to buy a few, at once.
If that is the case, would you be interested in one?

    Thanks.
