Hi, could anyone please tell me which would be more advantageous for my mother to apply for:

The non contributory pension or the qualified adult allowance?

My Dad gets a Contributory Pension and has savings of 15,000 in his own name

They have a joint account with 68,000.

He has a private pension of 60 weekly.

She has a UK pension of 100 euro weekly.

If anyone can do the maths or help me work it out, I would be most grateful.

If she’s not already a dependent on your dads pension he should apply to have her added.
She should apply for a non con at the same time. They’ll both respond and she can accept whichever is more, the adult dependent will respond first. Don’t forget, it’s he who is applying to have her considered but if they award her a payment she can get it paid into her own bank account/post office.

Thanks for this info. Didn't know you could apply for both.

Quick calculation she would get €89 non con. Or €88 as a dependent.

    Thanks for the calculation.
She will be delighted with that.
