Hi we,re renovating an old farmhouse, looking to fit some ,old look, rads....is it best to go for oldfashioned used cast iron jobbies, and go through the pain of redtoring them, or go for modern lookalikes, some of which are quite reasonable, and some pretty expensive?
We,re not purists, if the mod ones look ok, and perform ok, thats grand by us, ta....oh, are fittings easily got for the old rads? Ta

The problem with old radiators is that you have no idea what level of corrosion has occurred on the inside. They may be perfect or paper thin.
You buy and use old radiators completely at your own risk of leaks and flooding, with no liability on the installer.
