    Hi, we,re in the throes of doing up an old farmhouse, nithing fancy, outside boiler, rads, copper cylinder, no solar, solid fuel stove- no boiler..4 bed, 4 people..is there anything we ought to consider fitting before the floorboards go down?...we,re not too techy, so would appreciate any pointers, ta

    if fitting an outdoor boiler make sure the electrician runs a 4 core cable supply as you will need a permanent live for the boiler

    one of the most overlooked issues you will see

    too small budget

    not properly damp proofing stone walls

    not enough insulation

    not enough insulation on pipework under a solid floor

    not enough double sockets

    forgot to wire for the internet

    The missus likes the look of the traditional rads....new trad look good to my eyes...do they perform ok?..., why is there such demand for the original old cast iron rads ?
