Vodafone Red Family Farce

    I switched to Vodafone from Eir in Sept 2019 on a sim only plan. My wife also moved from Eir on a Red Complete plan. In Nov 2019 we signed up to Red Family and because we were relatively new to Vodafone we had to pay a €250 deposit which would be credited to our account, which we did. However, we also tried bringing 2 other family members onto Red Family as is allowed (one as sim only and the other as Red Standard plan) but were told by the store it would be an additional €250 deposit. The store also told us if we waited an extra month the advance payment of €250 would come down.

    So today on the 5th Dec we tried signing up these 2 additional family members. After an hour in the store we were told it would require a €400 deposit to add these 2 members. There is no way we were paying out an additional €400 especially after being told to hold out for a month and this deposit would reduce. The issue we now have is because our cooling off period has expired we cant cancel and walk away. Had we been correctly advised of having to pay €650 from the start we would never have signed up for Red Family. I guess this is the catch with this plan.

    In fairness the store apologised for this second incident as they had no explanation for the figure of €400. Unfortunately that's of no use to us as we're still tied into this red family plan, even though there's just two of us. I've contacted customer services for some explanation on why it's now €400 but they told me to go to the store (what a surprise!?).
