So , I think I’ve gotten rid of mice in press under sink. Any suggestions on whether to put traps or poison at back of press in case of reoccurrence?

    Traps.
Don’t use poison in the house. My mam did this years ago and the smell was awful.

Humane Traps? They only mice trying to find somewhere warm to shelter from the cold

Prevent them by sealing up any holes around pipes, etc, outside.

Don't leave flower pots, bins or anything they can hide behind, around the entrance to your house. They will hide and run in the minute you leave the door open for a second.

Yes might try humane traps . Good tip re: flower pots, have good few at back door. Think I have sealed up where they got in, fingers crossed.

If your kitchen units are sealed off from the rest of the kitchen by kickboards then the only place the mice could get in is from the floor and walls behind the kickboards. In this case if you seal any holes then the mice shouldn't get in and traps would be unnecessary. You'll hear lots of advice about sealing with concrete or filler mixed with glass or wire wool but I find that plain concrete (or filler) works fine.
