Automatic lessons costing more

My daughter has dyspraxia and is struggling with her lessons in a manual car. The instructor has recommended she switch to an automatic car to reduce her anxiety levels when driving. However, she has been told that the automatic lessons are going to cost her €10 more per hour. Is this normal practice? I can't see the justice in charging more her more for basically the same service!

Is she getting lessons in her own car or the instructors?
I can understand why an instructor would charge more for providing an automatic car to conduct lessons. Generally speaking, buying and operating an automatic car is more expensive and also the return on investment would be less for an instructor as the majority of people would opt for instruction in a manual.

However if you own the car in which the instructor is conducting the lessons then I see no reason why there should be any difference in the hourly rate.

Can you look elsewhere? A reputable driving school/instructor shouldn't charge more for automatic lessons.

Thats not true at all .
Swap car and drive to pupil . Swap back to manual . All this takes time .
Automatic would represent 10% of business . Cars cost more and so does running them on fuel.
