Driver's seat won't go back

    Hi.
I have a VW Polo, 2 door. I rolled the driver seat forward to grab something on the back seat. Now the seat won't go back.
There's some kind of cable under the seat when one pulls the lever to get the seat back. This cable is damaged broken? There is no coin or anything in the metal channels that the seat rolls back on.
I looked at the passenger seat and when I pull the lever on that side, there's a kind of movement in a few things under the seat and the seat rolls back.
I want to sort this myself, not a garage.
    Any advice?

    Ignition off. Key out.
Remove the seat, there will be 4 bolts holding it down.
You may need to disconnect the airbag/occupancy connector plug.
Once the seat is out turn it upside down and have a look at the mechanism that pulls the locking plate up and down, you will find that it is being prevented by either the cable or linkage being broken or something jamming it.

Before going to the extremes of taking the seat out get your head in underneath and check to see if anything is jamming any part of the mechanism.

Also, if when moving the seat forward if you did it with too much vigor you may have rammed the seat so hard against the stop that it could have slightly overridden the stop and become jammed onto it.

Got it sorted. Difficult to explain how. Just lots of pushing and shoving the seat (for +2 hours) and messing with the lever at the same time. Somehow it just freed itself up and its back to normal again. Thanks for your advice.
