Who makes this stuff ? I assume it's rebranded oil from another manufacturer ?

Usually I use Mobil oil in my cars, saw a deal on the kast stuff so I am asking here if anyone has used it before ?

    Thanks

    Lowest bidder.
Now once it meets the specs for your engine it will be fine, but my experience of their Kast (which is their own brand, reboxing various cheap suppliers) hasn’t been good.
Micksgarage do good deals on Total oil.

Mister Auto also do good deals on oil, I got Total oil off them recently for ~€35 for 5l. It depends on the type of oil you need but eg for a modern diesel engine, I reckon if you can get a good branded oil for under €10/litre, it's not worth saving a few quid on the ultra-cheap brands.

The co-op hardware do a range of Maxol branded oil for reasonable, C3 €30 or so....

Once it meets the spec - it should be fine.

But I always see it a bit like washing up liquid. Cheap stuff will do the job, but for the sake of a few quid, Fairy liquid is the stuff you want.

I use a separate funnel when servicing, but still tend to prefer to pay a few quid more purely for a decent cap with a funnel of its own and a decent handle. Can save a lot of cleaning up.

Hi Colm, we can assure you that our Kast Oil is of the highest quality, the only difference is the price! A lot of the time you are paying for the branding rather than the quality of the oil. Can I ask what issues you've had?

Melting tail light clusters for example. Replacements sent out which we were assured were a modified design etc etc, same thing happened again, Micksgarage then totally went silent and refused to engage. We had to buy tail lights from another supplier so not only inconvenienced but also out of pocket.
No point promising to look into it again as van is long sold and lesson learnt.
