BMW F10 tyre wear

    I have a BMW 520d F10
The rear tyres are inflated as per specs
    275/40 r18
    2.2bar / 32 psi
    Run Flats

But I have massive wear in the centre of the rear tyres.

Now I do like to drive a bit more than Shane Ross would like, but... What can I do to get a more even wear ?

I'd have said high tyre pressure but 2.2bar wouldn't be high.

It's a strange one unless you're checking the tyre pressure at the same garage the whole time and their gauges are off?
Try somewhere else if that's the case unless there's a sidewall issue on the back tyres?
What tires do you currently have on it? And are they reinforced sidewalls?

Currently using Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 ROF Runflat -
    275/40 RF18 99Y .
But I've previously had pirelli cinturato p7, and had a similar problems.

The true tyre pressure has been checked at various locations.

I switched my F10 to non runflats because of noise. I find anything over about 28 psi seems to increase the noise significantly too so I run them at 28 psi and they wear pretty evenly. I always use Bridgestone Potenzas.

The F10 would be fairly severe on rear tyres anyway.

Cant give any advice as to the uneven wear but I had P7’s on a previous Lexus and wore through them in 10,000km. They were extremely “soft”. Unusual though as it’s carrying through to a separate brand of tyre for you also.

I have a heavy right foot, I wonder is this causing wear at the centre.

I have a friend with a golf GTi who has a similar issue with his right foot, and his tyres also wear out along the centre.

RWD vs FWD. hardly the heavy foot impacting in both cases.

Well my rears wear along the centre, and his fronts wear similarly.

Wear in the middle of the tyre is usually a sign of over inflation not excess speed. Are you sure that you have the pressure correct as per the owners manual.

If it's 2 2 bar then the tyres are certainly not over-inflated. That's what I run mine, same tyre sizes and even wear. Do you check the pressure when cold? Maybe check when warm and reduce pressure to 2.2 then rather than when they're cold.

Either that or you're one of those chaps leaving donuts all over the country roads :D

It's a Diesel.. definitely not leaving donuts around the country.
Lots of m/way driving at speed.
