Hi

Can anyone recommend a decent speaker for about 100 Euro.

I have a basic anker soundcore, it’s grand and all, just not room filling.

Can anyone recommend one for my budget. I’m not sure on the technicalities but what ‘wattage’ is needed to fill a
Room ?

I’m even thinking an amazon echo 3rd gen could do the trick, thoughts?

Sonos have recently done a speaker with Ikea.

It's more or less comparable to the Sonos Play 1 and much cheaper at 100 euros. The cheapest Sonos speaker you can get by far.

You could buy one for now and then later on get another for a louder stereo setup or to do multi-room. Sonos phoneapp is really good and you can link in a load of 3rd party apps to it like Spotify, Soundcloud, TuneIn radio etc.

Thanks. Regarding power, does it always have to be plugged in to the mains? Or can it be charged up etc.

I presume it does not have Alexa etc built in

It has to be plugged in and doesn't have any voice control.

Portable bluetooth speakers are a different thing to the Sonos kit and won't sound as nice as most plugged in Hi Fi speakers.

The best/most popular portable ones for 100quid are the UE Boom3 ,Anker SoundCore motion and JBL Charge 4. They'll all go decently loud

All the speakers suggested seem very good, all have great reviews.

Would the Sonos one (gen 2) have the edge though?

Also, did the Sonos one have to be constantly plugged in also?

The Sonos has to be plugged in. Your not just buying a speaker though it's the first part of a home audio set up. It grows with you. It's really good kit and any Sonos speaker is a great starting point.

If you want a portable speaker your in different territory.

Thanks. In regard to your last line, what do you mean? That a decent portable speaker equals way more money is it?
