Upgrading headlight bulbs....

I've an 04 A3, living in the sticks and with my eyesight not being what it used to be, I'm toying with the idea of upgrading my headlight bulbs.
Looking for recommendations, I dont want anything that requires any kind of rewiring or electrical work beyond taking a bulb out and putting in a new one!
Or should I look at refurbishing the headlights? They are fairly cloudy at this stage of the cars life, not unexpected I guess.

Osram Nightbreakers is usually what people recommend.
If the headlights are cloudy then you need to restore them too. Look on youtube for various ways to do that.

Cheers. I'll have a look at those. Happy to try refurbishing myself as it should be easy enough.

Second the night breakers. Just put a set into my b7 passat yesterday. Made a huge difference literally night and day lol and no codes either

I fitted them in a qashqai. lasted 3 months and blew. Replaced them with standard bulbs again and they're still going strong.

I wouldn't bother with them again. The light was a good improvement though.

I tried the restoring option last month and I was impressed with the results. I used this 3M kit-> https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0078IHJ1K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You just need a spray bottle for water and an electric drill (i used an oldskool plug in drill rather than a rechargeable one as it had higher rpm). Halfway through the process, I thought i had ruined my headlights, but i kept going. Once finished, after the final polish stage, they were noticeably clearer. Also i totally removed the headlights to do this as i didn't trust myself enough, not to end up slipping and sanding the body/paintwork:D.

I also replaced the bulbs with the osram nightbreakers. Bit of a difference, but not huge( i think we've reached the limits of halogen bulbs).
