Google 2 step verification broken

    Anyone else ever have issues with google two step verification?

    I wiped my phone and reinstalled everything (i do this every 6 months to freshen it up) I know all my log in information for google etc but when resetting up the phone the 2 step verification code would not come through so i had to skip it after two attempts.

    My Phone is Samsung S8+ so i set up all the Samsung related stuff and again tried to log into google for apps etc. I tried this 4 times waiting about ten minutes for each attempt and nothing I then get about 9 messages in a row from Google with different verification codes and a message comes up on the log in screen to say the account is locked due to too many attempts and to try again in a few hours.

    I am basically stuck now without any access to my google account (or apps) and trying to log in on the PC gives me the same message about the text message. Ironically i can get into my gmail but cant do any account maintenance as soon as i try it looks for 2 step.

    I cannot find anything helpful on google rather a vague this can be locked for a few hours to a WEEK??

    I am usually very security conscious but i think i will turn off the 2-step as this is just bonkers. :rolleyes:

    EDIT eventually was able to get back into my google account about 4 hours later big of a nightmare though
