Circle K Miles Plus vs Applegreen PowerPlus diesel

I am usually getting Circle K Miles Plus diesel. But it's prices have hiked in the last 2 months. And on the way home I saw Applegreen advertising PowerPlus diesel at a lower price
    (https://www.applegreenstores.com/fuelgood/fuelgood-powerplus-diesel/ )

I am wondering if from technical specs Circle K's Miles Plus is superior?

Any thoughts or experience on these 2 fuels?

I never liked Applegreen petrol. Never got as much mileage as Circle K petrol.

Since I’ve changed to a diesel car, I find their standard diesel around the same but the 11 herbs and spices they put into the dearer stuff seems to be actually getting me slightly better fuel economy.

There’s probably something good in it, but the 7 or 8c per litre premium is almost certainly 90% margin for them.

Best value diesel in Limerick seems to be the Texaco at Parkway roundabout, one of the cheapest, plus you get an extra 2c off per litre with a spar rewards card.

Is that the new Texaco fuel station?
And is it the same premium quality diesel that Circle K are offering?

They don’t do the additive as an option like circle k do. Just to be clear, it’s not extra high quality or anything, just additive they add to it.

Texaco is just regular diesel, but a very trusted brand. That’s the new place off the roundabout.

The milesPlus additive is from Lubrizol.

I've no idea what AppleGreen use

4c off with avantcard/AA app so gave it a go today

Refiners don't make different fuel for different brands. All standard fuel is the same no matter where you buy it.

Brands then put additives into some of their fuels. Some swear by them, others say it's a marketing gimmick.

Maybe worth a couple of cents, but 10c? Not a chance.

Miles plus diesel is again @€;1.368/lit (1.328 with AA app) so same as regular diesel in Galway today.

Can feel a slight bit of power increase but can't really tell if consumption has improved. I'll keep on filling with miles plus for a while and see how it goes after a couple of tank fulls

Thanks. I am using Miles Plus for over a year now. I do see better mileage and pick up. Less knocking on cold engine. But its just expensive on the pocket as I need to pay around 70€ weekly in diesel.

It's all a Placebo effect, they are all the same imo.

I was using circle k standard most of the time as where I was living it was near all them.

Now close to an apple green and had been using it more often, have found the smell slightly different and car gets quite smokey on start up.

Have last few fills with circle again and now no smoke...

Reminds me of a thread I started that ended up with people demanding imperative scientific conclusions, when I was demonstrating a visual difference between fuel from different stations.

I used applegreen only a few times on the motorbike and it got less mileage and didn't feel as smooth.
Back to topaz/circle k and bike was back to normal.
So now I only get my diesel and petrol from circle k

I’ve been using Circle K miles plus diesel the past year and find the fuel economy is slightly higher but the car is definitely more responsive

I found your thread to be interesting. Pity it took a turn for the worst.
