    Hi folks,
I see on UK forums lads get texts about their order progress..

    Like below

    Ordered: 13th July 2019
    Stage 3: 8/08/19 (Wk 39)
    Stage 4: Not Received
    Stage 5a: 25/09/2019
    Stage 5b: Not received
    Stage 5c: 19/11/2019
    Stage 6 : 21/11/2019

Is it possible for Irish orders?

Ordered Tiguan 1.5 dsg highline with tech pack Friday and I'm guessing it will be late Feb delivery. No panic with it really just be cool to get updates all the same.

    Cheers,
    Mick

The online tracker or that app is UK Only.

All you can do here is follow up with the dealer. Get the order number off them when they have it (also known as the “comm” number) and verify also at that point that the spec is as per your order. Armed with that comm number you can ring VW Ireland customer service and they’ll give you updates on its whereabouts.

But ultimately it’ll arrive when it arrives. Usually 10 weeks or so from ordering.

Thanks I managed to install the app but couldn't sign-up as you need a UK phone number and address. Yeah I won't bother checking in with dealer. If it was handy to set up tracking would have but otherwise won't bother.

It’s no harm to check in with the dealer anyway. Get that comm number and verify everything is ordered and in the system correctly. But leave it a week or two yet.

    hi folks,

talked to dealer today and we have build week 4 which starts January 19th. He reckons about 3 weeks after that so I suspect end of February is realistic expectation?

    Thanks,
    Mick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,470 ✭✭✭JoeA3

yeah, around 3-4 weeks after build for delivery would be average. It can vary +/- 1 or 2 weeks depending on how shipping schedules line up.

    hi folks,

Checked with my VW dealer today. Car was built Jan 19th. Has been at docks in Germany waiting for a boat last ten days. He reckons should ship early next week and could have next weekend or so?

He says there's fair bit waiting to be shipped in Germany. Any idea why there might be a hold up?

    Cheers,
    Mick

Hi joe, I don't suppose you know if there boats on way from Germany this week? I don't want to appear like a pain in the hole phoning my dealer every day.
    Thanks,
    Mick

You will only be annoying them .. even when it arrives in the docks it can be there a few days waiting on clearance and checks along with transport.

Yeah I know I'll be annoying them :) just curious if a boat left this week as the dealer said once it sails it's usually four days and they come pretty much straight to them and they need it for a day..should be next two weeks either way

Sry for the potential thread hijack, but I am in the process of ordering a highline tiguan also.
I wanted a particular set of wheels and colour which the salesman says will mean a factory order. I have no issue with the delay from that as I am in no rush but he then went on to say that the 0% finance PC offer may well be over by time it arrives so then the price will go up acordingly.
I had assumed you would agree a price fully before ordering. I assume he is trying it on here to get me to take a car he already has.
So can I ask if you agreed the final price before ordering or will that be "decided" later?
Maybe you are not using PCP though so may not apply to you.

The specified fuel consumption and emission data have been determined according to the measurement procedures prescribed by law. Since 1st September 2017, certain new vehicles are already being type-approved according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), a more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2- emissions. Starting on September 1st 2018, the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) will be replaced by the WLTP in stages. Owing to the more realistic test conditions, the fuel consumption and CO2- emissions measured according to the WLTP will, in many cases, be higher than those measured according to the NEDC. For further information on the differences between the WLTP and NEDC, please visit www.volkswagen.ie/wltp-info We are currently still required by law to state the NEDC figures. In the case of new vehicles which have been type-approved according to the WLTP, the NEDC figures are derived from the WLTP data. It is possible to specify the WLTP figures voluntarily in addition until such time as this is required by law. In cases where the NEDC figures are specified as value ranges, these do not refer to a particular individual vehicle and do not constitute part of the sales offering. They are intended exclusively as a means of comparison between different vehicle types. Additional equipment and accessories (e.g. add-on parts, different tyre formats, etc.) may change the relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, and, in conjunction with weather and traffic conditions and individual driving style, may affect fuel consumption, electrical power consumption, CO2- emissions and the performance figures for the vehicle. Further information on official fuel consumption figures and the official specific CO2 emissions of new passenger cars can be found in the “Guide on the fuel economy, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new passenger car models”, which is available free of charge at all sales dealerships and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, D-73760 Ostfildern, Germany and at www.dat.de.

Specifications, pricing, standard equipment, options, fabrics and colours are subject to change without notice by VWGI. Please note that some possible configurations may no longer be available in production or stock. Contact your retailer for the latest information. Some vehicles are pictured with options that may be available at extra cost or may not be available on some models. Ask your retailer about availability of options and verify that the vehicle you ordered includes the equipment you ordered. Prices exclude the maximum delivery charge of €800, model shown is for illustrative purposes only.

Seems like bull from the dealer..looks like as long as order placed before end of Feb you get the rate

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,363 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

I'd say there is some truth in it. The big push by manufacturers is sales in the first 2 or 3 months of the 201 reg year, this is what they are vying for - market share, and this is usually when the best offers such as 0% finance are on. A factory order placed now could take you close to April when the incentive is not as strong. The cynic in me might also think that the dealer is more eager to sell something that is already available in stock.

Yeah saw that. Guess they are indeed blowing smoke up my ass by saying the price may go up if delivery is after the offer ends. Not sure how they expect me to order a car without knowing the actual cost they will charge.
    Thanks.
