When you say ‘leased by garage’ Do you want to find out if there’s finance owed on it?

I suspect car may be currently on a business lease from a garage. Owner is local lad with own small business so I suspect car is leased from garage to the business as it's a 2 year old kodiaq with lots of extras that would be 45k new. Curious if he's planning on buying it and selling on for a small profit or if he really owns it outright.

It would be unusual for the garage to lease it directly. It’s pretty much always done through a finance company

And tell me again why this is any of your business?

The OP might be interested in buying it.

Probably would be better talking to the person direct in that case.

A "I'm wondering if or when your car might come up for sale as it's the colour/spec etc I'm looking to buy" might work.

Thats IF OP is interested in buying it.

Otherwise you are actually right it's none of his business.

Ok wow, didn't mean to rile anyone up.

Just pub talk so far, he heard I was in the market for a change of car and was asking what I was looking to spend and what type car I was interested in. Then he said he might be selling his own soon and that's about as far as the conversation went.

Motorcheck will tell you if owned by a company which often means leased and lease cars often show up on a lease finance agreement too
