Hi, I'm looking for advice on free to air options with a new TV. I'm looking to get an LG 49SM8500 which i see has a satellite input. My current setup is dish to mutant box to tv. Can anyone tell me with the new tv, if i can plug dish directly into tv, scan for channels and not use the mutant box?

I don't use any other features on the mutant box, just scan channels and pick my favourites to view so would really like to be able to not use the box if i can directly use the tv instead.

    Thanks!

Should work OK. If it has genuine Freesat software the country code must be set to UK to benefit from this. Use any post code you like to select which UK region it will prefer in the channel list.

Ah ok gotcha, will check that out, thanks. I was hoping itv and bbc players would work as well but not sure if that friends on the country you select or if it will go by IP.

if you want it to be seemless i.e. with all channels irish & uk on one list be careful which telly you choose...some you have to toggle between the two which can be a nuisance

AFAIK the players are geoblocked but I'm sure there are ways around this that we can't discuss.
