Have some pedigree angus heifers that get nervous when strangers walk around them. This turns off some potential private buyers when they see this. they are quiet with myself. They calm down after a number of minutes. What do people find good to get this out of them?

I heard of a lad who is taking cattle to Carraig and he bought them to a neighbours yard this week to get them used of different surroundings and strangers.

Put a radio on in the shed for a while every day. Gets them used to the sound of people.

Put a radio in the shed and turn it on in the daytime.

It might/should help somewhat to get them more acquainted with different voices, sounds, etc.

    Edit: do what Patsy posted.

A small tv in the shed is best.....put it on the children’s channel....

Get neighbors, siblings that don’t be near them often to feed them some nuts. See if they can associate new people with grub.

We have a radio on 24/7 in the shed. Plus the hens are great too, the flutterings & things they do are fab to get cattle used to sudden sounds etc.

    Radio as above.
Start with volume low and increase gradually.
