Another Go Safe Question

Sorry, I know these threads are done to death but I was rolling along in an 80kph limit earlier, middle of nowhere, long straight road. Started to brake for a 60 kph limit and possibly rolled past the sign at just over the limit, still braking (watching the road, not the clock). The van was 200-300m away. I was probably ok, but the question is, do the detect from the point the sign is mounted or say 50m into the limit? What is the tolerance on the actual speed? I braked harder obviously when I saw it but wondering at what point I'd have been clocked. Responsible driver with 23 years with a 100% clean record so it would be a bad way to end it. Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

Hey it's not like I came within 1.5m of a cyclist. In fact that's what was occupying my mind at the time 🙄

Short range behind van only so you should be grand ... radars dont
point straight down the road but at 22 degrees from back door of van ... unless it is a Garda van which are different

Just reverse past them at the same speed. Undoes the ticket.

In Germany this week so I'll be glad to return to a land of limits next week. Trying to maintain 200kph on the autobahn gets tiring 😂. Thanks again for all your comments.

The speedo on your car is nearly always slightly off by a couple of kph so 80 on the dial is probably 78 on the radar

Reverse past them a double the speed limit and you become invisible.

I find if it's too late to slow down crashing into it works much better.

Realistically, how fast do you have to be going to get in trouble? Are they going to give you a ticket for doing 81 km/h in an 80 zone?

84km/h or above I'd say around.
