Thinking of buying an Ateca

Hi I'm in the market for a new car and I'm tempted by Seats 0% PCP offer. I'd be keeping the car beyond the 3 years so the balloon payment at the end is not an issue for me.

I'd like a SUV and I'm looking at the 1.6 DSL Ateca Se Plus. I'm told I need a diesel based on my mileage which is approx 25,000 kms a year.

The list price of the car with metallic paint comes out at approx 33k using the seat.ie configurator. This amt is the max I will pay.

All the reviews I've read on the ateca seem to say it's a fine, well spec'd car and I'm planning to talk to the garage soon. But before I do that I'd be interested to find out the views of others who have brought one of these. I.e are you happy with it. What questions do you wish you had asked before buying. That sort of thing.

By the way if anybody can offer an opinion as to any better value to be had I'd like to hear it. Thanks in advance.

They’re doing €3500 off Atecas AFAIK.

Can you stretch to the 2.0 TDi, much nicer than the 1.6.

Didn't see anthing about that before. It'd be great if true.

Would that be made up of the €1500 voucher and minimum scrappage or something like that?Or what's the chance the trade in would be on top of the 3500 reduction.

I'd be hoping they'd offer something on a trade in on a 10 year old car.

The Skoda Karoq is nicer and a bit newer too.

The Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage are well worth looking at do as both have longer warranty's than the Seat and might suit you better as well as been better value. The Sportage now comes as a mild hybrid now as well.

The new Mazda CX-30 is really nice as well and worth a look .

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Tucson is a mild hybrid too. I wouldn’t have one over an Ateca.

That said the Ateca is getting on a bit and SEAT traditionally give discounts and incentives to shift new stock. It’s still kinda the misunderstood member of the VW family and resale surely won’t be as good as a Karoq in a few years.
Unless SEAT have some sort of transformation in the meantime.

My wife bought a 182 new. It’s a 1.6 executive and we’ve had no problems.

It’s the same car as the karoq and Tiguan and it really depends on the spec and the finance deal you are getting. The 0% finance sounds good. We paid 3.4% and I’d plan to keep it when the 3 years are up

Ateca is my first suv type car and i was a bit cautious about it. I have no regrets, even it being my first petrol car after 6 diesels, so not as economical, but with the small mileage I do it is perfectly suitable for me.

I do about 25,000 kms a year so I just want to be sure that what I buy is up to the job. Had a look at the 1.6 SE diesel yesterday I must say I was impressed - plenty of room, big boot and appears well spec'ed. Only a three year warranty though.

3 year warranty is same across the Audi/VW/Skoda/Seat range as far as I am aware?
As most parts are literally identical and @25k a year =75k kms which is nothing on those engines and running gear.
Obviously it wont be without a fault every now and again as every car would do.

Would you get a higher spec demo/pre reg car for smaller money?

Moved to a petrol Ateca recently from a diesel Golf.

Lovely car to drive. Very happy with it.

Like colm_mcm said, I was offered 3500 off the list price of a new one. Don't think that extends to pre-regs or demos, just to the 201 cars. It makes buying a new car better value for me when I look at what the garage are asking for a pre-reg xc for example.

Glad to hear it and well wear with it. I haven't seen too many Atecas on the road, but any reports I've heard or read about are good and as they have been around since 2016/17 if there was any issues I sure they would have cropped up by now.

Driving an ateca a couple of years now (172).1.4 xcellence. Not a bother with it. The ateca, tiguain, koraq and q3 are all the same car bar the variance in spec. Coming to the end of our pcp and will like likely look at 7 seater suv options, kodiaq or tarracco.

The tarracco looks nice. Big and roomy. Garage had some in yesterday.

Took the plunge & signed up before christmas and took delivery today. Dirty day for driving it home but I'm very happy with it.
