    Hi folks.

Hoping someone can help me out with something I need to buy for my new home setup.

    I've attached a rough drawing.

The item I need is in orange.
But what's it called? Tried googling around a few things but can't seem to find it.

    Any help appreciated!

    Thanks!

You don't need the item in orange. Connect the output of the sky box directly to the distribution amplifier and your aerial to the aerial input on the sky box.

Ah that's the problem. I don't have a cable going from the aerial to the Sky box.
The aerial is in the attic (where the distribution amplifier is).

The Sky box is in the living room.
I have one cable going from the Sky box to the attic.

I found the attached at home.

I notice it says UHF / VHF combiner.

    Should this do the trick?

No, that's for combining terrestrial signals with those from a satellite dish. (See the frequency ranges marked for each leg.)

You could try this kind of combiner/splitter, which passes the relevant frequencies on both legs. (Obviously with the Sky box on the power-passing leg, if it's powering the amp & magic eyes.)
