Hi,

I`m back sooner than I was planning ;) I only set up the TV last week and now I`m looking for a new toy again. This time I`m thinking about sub for my Yamaha RN602 + Q Acoustic 3050 (yes I have it from RS as well :). I want a bit more deep sound for music and movies. The living room where all set is located is relatively small circa 23 sq. meteres. I came across this offer on your website:

    https://www.richersounds.com/hi-fi/subwoofers/yamaha-ystfsw050-blk.html

Would it be any good for my setup ? I want something that sets ON/OFF when I power the ampli. Any other recommendation ?

    Regards

    Hi Cristobaal,

That Yamaha isn;t a bad sub but I would recommend the model above, the NSSW050 at £119. It has auto on/off as well but with a larger driver and slightly larger cabinet it would match better with the Q Acoustics speakers:

    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-202403-yamaha-nssw050-black-black-subwoofer.aspx

Alternatively if you wanted to match everything with the Q Acoustics I could do you a brand new 3060S subwoofer for £209.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi David,

Could you actually confirm that the Yamaha NSSW050 has the auto on/off function ? A lot of people claims it does not have it, including a few reviews on your own RS website. Quote:

Nice sound. Does not match specifications advertised.
This sub produces admirable bass for the price. The enclosure is easy on the eye and discreet. Check the specifications on the Yamaha website before purchase. Richer sounds have not listed it properly here. It does not seem to have auto power on/off. There is no mention of it anywhere except for in the product listing on this site. If it is a deal breaker look at another sub.

If there is no Auto on/off on that Yamaha NSSW050 is there anything you could recommend ?

    Many regards

    Hi Cristobaal,

It says it has it on our specs on the website but you might be right. It does seem to be conflicting information!

The YSTSFW050 does have it and so does the Q Acoustics sub if you'd be interested in that price?

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi David,

3060S is a bit out for my budget. What do you think about Elac sub ?

    Hi Cristobaal.

The Elac sub isn't bad for the money.

    I have one currently left.

It's showing up on our website as an in-store only collection but i can wave this if you would like to purchase it.

    Hi Kenny,

Thanks for your reply. One more question about these two:

    https://www.richersounds.com/cambridge-sx120-sub-blk.html

    https://www.richersounds.com/q-acoustics-q3070s-matte-graphite.html

What would be the best choice from all these subs including Yamaha YSTFSW050 (thats currently even cheaper as it dropped to 79GBP) and Elac Debut ?

    Many regards

    Hi Cristobaal.

The Q Acoustics 3070s would be the best of those subs but that is why it is more expensive.

The YSTFSW050 is a good starting point but you can get much better.

    Hi Kenny,

How much would you charge for 3070S delivered to Galway ? Is there a cable included so I can hook this up into Yamaha RN602 ?

    Many regards

    Hi Cristo,

the Q Acoustics 3070s in Graphite is £169 + shipping at £6.99 or €209 including shipping - you can check it out here:
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201189-q-acoustics-3070s-graphite-matte-graphite-subwoofer.aspx

Unfortunately it does not include a cable but we do sell a great dedicated Sub cable from Cambridge:
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-10538-cambridge-audio-aud100-7-5m-subwoofer-cable-subwoofer-lead.aspx

Thanks again and keep us posted if we can assist in any way,

    Thanks John,

I`d rather pay in GBP plus shipping cost as I use Revolut for better conversion rate ;)  I don`t need as long cable as I`m planning to keep the sub close to ampli. Anything around 2-3 meters would be perfect, if you don`t have anything interesting no worries I will get it from elsewhere.

    Many regards

    Cristo,

that's no problem - our Customers can always pay in whichever currency suite them best :)

In terms of the cable - we do lots of shorter dedicated Sub cables but that AUD100 is actually excellent and at a great price - please do be careful as its critical that your sub lead is really well screened and does not induce the dreaded HUM :|

    https://www.richersounds.com/subwoofer-lead.html

    One more example above :)
