Grants for attic insulation

Are there any grants for attic insulation at the moment? I want to add 200mm of rockwool to the attic and I am hoping to reduce the cost.

Edit: I want to do the work myself.

Been looking at it recently myself, haven't pulled the trigger on it yet tho so cant comment on how easy or difficult it is to go through the process.

€400 for attic insulation and you have to use an SEAI approved contractor.

If you want to do the work yourself you can't avail of the grant.

It will be much cheaper this way also.

We were quoted circa €800 (€1,200 - grant) to do the attic of a 100sq.m terraced townhouse. That includes the appropriate ventilation, the attic hatch, the water tanks, all piping etc

If you know what you are doing you would insulate an average 3 bed semi attic including tanks and pipes for approx €150-€200. There is a max of 1 days work in it if the attic is clear.

As nice as it is to have the grant, if you are healthy and able i would look at doing it yourself.

I put in some loft legs for raised access storage when i was doing mine, so that is certainly worth doing while you are tackling it if you need storage.

Can you link the insulation product you are using that would come to the total above

I already insulated it with 150mm of rockwool. The pipes are insulated. I just want to add 200mm.

How would I insulate the water tank?

Tell me more. I do have floorboards with storage on some of the attic and I am not sure what to do there.

B&Q do multibuy deals on loft roll insulation. They dont have an irish website but here is the english one in sterling.

For an average 3 bed semi, then approx 6 rolls would cover it. I think that comes to approx €80 or so with the deal in euro.

There are a few different products , this is one of them all the info you need is here. I find them good and relatively easy to install and space out.
