Amiko mini combo vs mini combo extra

    I've currently got a mini combo, very happy with the box except for one thing. When pausing live TV (via a usb stick plugged into the side of the box) on HD channels we get pauses of varying length when playing back.

    Generally these are accompanied by a blue box on screen saying 'Are you sure to exit recording' (with that weird english).

    These hangs / pauses are much worse on HD channels although do happen on other channels.

    I was wondering if it's worth upgrading to the 'Extra' box, but I'm not sure if it brings anything to the table that will actually help with these issues.

    Anyone had this issue or used the extra box? Is it worth upgrading?

    Sounds like the USB stick is not fast enough to handle HD. USB sticks are not recommended for this kind of use and will soon wear out. At the very least consider getting a portable HDD for a laptop instead.

    Thanks, I've got a USB 3 1TB drive that I can try instead.
