National Childcare Scheme

    Hi

    Not sure if I'm in the right forum. Currently we're getting a discount for childcare through Pobail. According to the new childcare scheme, we're entitled to a 70 euro a week subsidy. Does anyone know if this can be used alongside the subsidy we get with Pobail or do they work independently of each other? As in if we get a subsidy through the new scheme, we'd loose our subsidy through Pobail?

    We're a bit weary we'd end up paying more than we currently are if we end up on the new scheme

    The second sentence below appears to answer this:-
    "The National Childcare Scheme (NCS) provides financial support to help parents meet the cost of quality Early Learning and Care and School Age Childcare. It will replace all previous targeted childcare support programmes with a single, streamlined and user-friendly Scheme."
