In the 2005 E90 I own, the blower doesnt blow. So followed a few videos on youtube and thought it must be the resistor so changed that and no success. I've just taken the blower motor out and oiled it up because it has rusted a little. Plugged it back in and it spins then stops. Same when I turn on the ignition, spins then stops, is there anything else I can check or is it time to shell out on a new blower?

I had a problem with the blower or heater on my 2006 E90 not working (can't remember which now, but I definitely had no warmth in winter & no aircon).

Heater matrix replacement was a no-no due to needing the dash to come off to be replaced.

Turned out to be a loose wiring problem in the climate control adjuster below the radio unit.

Open it up. There are two wiring plugs (left & right). Right one was loose. Unplug it & reseat it. Do it several times if it does not work until you hopefully get the blower on.

If that doesn't work, then look for a used blower motor at a scrap yard or adverts.ie. Shouldn't cost much.

    To update on this one.

Got new resistor which turned out to be a pos. Old resistor seems to work fine. Did get a new blower motor though. When I plug in the connector from the car it spins but then stops which leads me to believe there's an issue with the connection, anyone any tips on how to repair myself.

Also when the ignition turns on, it spins then stops. Brought it to an indy and he said I might have to get a specialist to look at it as the power from the fuse was fine.

Check is there current carrying capacity at the motor. Take a H7 bulb and make up a test lead by attaching two short pigtails to it. Plug these in instead of the motor itself and turn it on, if the light is bright and strong then the wiring is ok, if not then start tracing back.... Is there current carrying capacity to the resistor, etc after the first test

Yeah Indy said as much. I'd say its an easy enough fix if someone had the tools to do it :)
