Hi, does anyone know what the story with Bord Gais now hiring apprentice gas service engineer. I was always under the impression that they always subcontracted all this type of work out. They now seem to be hiring gas service engineers to train in Ireland and the United kingdom and work directly for them, like British Gas.…

Hi, does anyone know what the story with Bord Gais now hiring apprentice gas service engineer. I was always under the impression that they always subcontracted all this type of work out.

They now seem to be hiring gas service engineers to train in Ireland and the United kingdom and work directly for them, like British Gas.

Are there major changes with regards to proper training for competent gas service engineer within the gas industry here in Ireland and not just a 14 day course in some training centres around the country.
