How do you delete a text message on an iPhone?

So I figured out how to delete a text message, but seeing as with smart phones every text with a person linked together, I guess what I'm really asking is how do you delete a conversation? so that nothing of it will show up in the inbox. I keep on seeing these messages of bad memories in my inbox that I'd like to get rid of! Even when I delete the entire conversation, it still appears in the inbox.

iOS is such a terrible and outdated phone OS. It’s like they are still trying to create workarounds and design choices based on principles that were created during the release of the first iPhone - one button, long presses to copy text, that weird way of sharing things between apps etc.

You swipe left/right/left/right to ‘scrub’ and without releasing press and hold until you feel for the haptic feedback. Then release; and double tap ~ Voila. It’s gone

    Can it be done though?

Or just hold it under water for a minute or two.

You want to dilute the tippex? Is this some sort of aromatherapy?

Use the toiet then immerse in the cistern. The pre flush water is very effective

On mine (iOS 12.4.2)you go to inbox, swipe from right to left on the persons name and you get a red delete option. Pressing that it asks do you want to delete the entire conversation and with 'yes' the whole thing goes.

Press down on the message and a number of choices should pop up. Select delete.

    You sick.pig.

You wouldn’t rub a Brillo pad on a sick pigs willy, I’m starting to wonder if you have a medical degree or or you just call yourself doctor because you were once the nemesis of a superhero.

Do you know what the word "Nemesis" means?

Pigs can go through bone like butter.

Maybe the OP needs to feed his phone to the pigs.

Kind of like an arch nemesis but not as high.

Yeah teacher could make you stay back after class and clean the messages off the board with a duster.

I've found out how. You just swipe left for the 'delete' option to show up.
